Silent River obtained two more important awards, for its first time in Romania, at the short and medium film festival NEXT.

Anca Miruna Lazarescu's short film received both the Best Romanian Film Award and the Public Award for the best Romanian film.

A Strada Film Romania and Film Allee Germany co-production, Silent River tells the story of Gregor and Vali, two friends who try to escape the regime in 1986's Romania, by swimming across the Danube to the Serbian bank. To assure their success, Gregor has one rule: Vali must leave his wife at home.

The short film has recently received a nomination for the short film section of 2011's European Film Awards.
