About Us


 Strada Film was founded in 2004, having Traffic directed by Cătălin Mitulescu as its first production. This short film won the Palm d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival. Since then, Strada Film has produced three other successful feature films: Ryna by Ruxandra Zenide, The way I spent the end of the world by Cătălin Mitulescu, winner of Best Actress Award in the Un Certain Regard competition at the Cannes Film Festival, and If I want to whistle, I whistle, Florin Şerban's debut, winner of the Grand Jury Prize Silver Bear and Alfred Bauer Award at the 60th edition of Berlin International Film Festival, Loverboy, directed by Cătălin Mitulescu, selected in 2011 in the Un Certain Regard Competition.

In 2013, Strada Film produced Bogdan Mustaţă’s first feature, Wolf , which had its premiere at Sarajevo Film Festival.

During these years, Strada Film has expanded its activities to producing short films, like A good day for a swim by Bogdan Mustata, winner of the Golden Bear in 2008 Berlinale and Solitudes, directed by Liova Jedlicki, as well as documentaries - Life in squares, directed by Ivana Mladenovic and Toto and His Sisters (a HBO Romania co-production) directed by Alexander Nanau, had its premiere at San Sebastian Film festival and received numerous and prestigious awards from festivals like Zurich, Namur, Warsaw, Dok Leipzig IFF.

 

In 2016 Strada Film produced By the Rails directed by Catalin Mitulescu who won Karlovy Vary IFF and That Trip I took with dad directed by Anca Miruna Lazarescu, who won Munhen IFF and competed in festivals like Moscow IFF, Tallin Black Nights, Goa, Torino, Goteborg and Toronto.

Now we just finalized Catalin Mitulescu forth film, Heidi that will premiere at Sarajevo IFF 2019.
